Oh he shagged his caterer? Oh he's married to a wide-mouthed frog? Oh, he has a glass eye like Dave Bowie?

At least in America they're straight about it. At least Americans know they're voting for one individual vs. another individual. In the UK they still try to keep up the pretence that we're voting for our local MPs, which FUCKING infuriates me because the entire general election is a complete con.

Let's not even go there. This election has pissed me off since day one. Obama has played up being a maverick even though I'm not a big fan of him... and now his fan base is beginning to annoy me almost as much as the Ron Paul nutcases. McCain is a flaming moron who may not even be in good enough, competent health to be the President of the United States, and his stupid beauty-queen moron VP is basically, according to many, many Alaskans, a vindictive bitch who bites the hand that feeds her and is ultimately an incomptent fool who gets where she does using her looks and her smile.

Joe Biden was ALWAYS my first choice for president. Now he's the VP. I suppose that makes it good for Obama though.

I am teaching Civics (which is basically US Government) and Economics this year, so having the election is providing me with an embarrassment of riches. I am also a bit of a political junkie myself, so this fall I am in a state of almost nervous collapse from sensory overload.
