What can I say about this episode? Loads, but it's late and I'll probably get into it more tomorrow. This is the one where Apollo and Serina get sealed (married). This has one of my favourite scenes as well, where Starbuck lights the match on the cylon! LMAO!!! I love that! Always cracks me up. They find Kobol at the end of the void, guided by a dying star. And, one of the saddest moments in the series as well, when Serina dies and Apollo tells Boxey that her body is gone, not her spirit.

Yeah, this is definitely one of my favourite TOS episodes, this episode definitely has it all for me in comparison to some future episodes.

It's definitely one of the more moving episodes and has a rich tapestry which you can really get your teeth into. It sets the benchmark and is never equalled. It gives us much more background into the backdrop of 12 colonies, where they came from, their links to us. Marvellous.

Yes I did not expect Serine to die when I watched that one. It came a little bit as a shock to me.

I also find it very interesting how the ancient architecture of TOS is very much influenced my ancient Egypt and in the RDM series is influenced by Greek.

My feeling is that this episode is pretty good as well, aside from the obviously sexist division between shuttle pilots and Viper pilots. Thankfully, we later get Sheba.

There's obviously an epic feel to this episode, particularly with Kobol. The fact that a second unit filmed actual footage with doubles out in Egypt only adds to this. Not even the Stargate shows did this, if I recall correctly. Further, the stuff with Baltar playing both sides against the middle is just splendid. Baltar was in his form here, I believe, as opposed to the later episodes where he varied from one extreme to the next.

Well, had Stargate or its TV shows never existed, I do think there'd be more of Egyptian motif to the series. Stargate explored the whole Egyptian thing to death, so they went with a little more contemporary.

I haven't seen it yet, so thanks.

Can we have a Spoilers sub-forum for this?
