We've had a lot of fun speculating on how RDM & co.'s going to tie things up, but there always seems to be this question of will the Colonists' Greek mythology be inherited from Earth; or perhaps the other way around -- that Earth got it from the Colonists?
Given the fact that one would at least expect for the two worlds to "collide", do you think they'll have a concrete answer or leave it open for interpretation
(or any crazy theory in between :D)

IMHO they'll leave it open for interpretation.
"All this has happened before and all this will happen again..." etc..., implies to me that the whole Earth, Kobal, 12 Colonies saga is an eternal circle, repeating itself over and over. Maybe since time itself began.

As many may have taken note of, I'm leaning on the open for interpretation ending. I'm still fairly certain our universe and the BSG are not the same, rather they parallel.
If we actually see them set foot on Earth's soil at the end I could really see a sort of ruined civilization thing happen. The 13th tribe wiped itself essentially. It would allow the writers to make additional commentary about the world we live in today, with actually involving, the world we live in today.
As I mentioned in the other thread, I think the Greek mythology may be more for our benefit. If they had created a religion entirely from scratch, more explanation would likely be required. As it stands now, we at least have something as a frame of reference. Same with the Cylon belief system and their commandments. By using pre-existing doctrine, it allows the viewers to identify with it and understand it more.
I'm not sure I'm entirely opposed to the fleet being the foundation of our civilization or something like that. However I really do prefer things be separate, yet similar.

They will ground everything that is physical and secular by the end of the show. I think they will tie most things up into a neat little bow for us, but leave one or two open ends for interpretation.
As for the spiritual and religious matters, they will leave all of that out in the open and probably won't tie much of it up. My reasoning is that they don't have a reason to do so, and if they do they may seem like they are trying to tell us one way of thinking is better than another, which they have been good so far about, and I doubt they'll change that.

I think it's possible they'll leave alot of stuff about the origins of the cylons, the mystical stuff, etc. open-ended, so they'll have stuff to talk about in "Caprica".
