Guys, Gals, Toasters, and Chamalla-Induced Delusions,

Please note that all season 4 spoilers are to be discussed in the Season 4 Spoilers (http://www.battlestarforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=28) forum. Be sure to read this post (http://www.battlestarforum.com/announcement.php?f=3&a=1) on how to view the forum, if you do not have access already.

Participants can use spoiler tags as well, so as to hide spoilery content outside of the almighty spoiler forum. (However, you can use it there also.. no restrictions. :))

The tags are as follows:

Your spoiler! However, all content INSIDE the Season 4 Spoilers forum will not need to use the spoiler tags! It will be carte blanche, so the spoiler people may rejoice!

Good to have a designated forum for it.

I assume that speculation doesn't have to be restricted to that forum.

If the speculation links off to the spoiler that might "enforce" that speculation, I would expect at least that URL to be put in tags, but otherwise no. Theory chat is cool in the regular forum.

A genuine speculation cannot be tagged , the poster couldn't know whether his idea is a spoiler or not

Hey Guys, now that the long awaited season 4 is almost here I've been thinking about my internet viewing and participation in the forum. I know there is excellent spoiler policy here but I'm hoping that we can take special care to avoid accidentally dropping spoiler info from the opening episodes in the different threads. I'm aware that many of us members in different parts of the world may only be seeing the same epiodes days or weeks after they are shown in the USA

We did create a "forum" that is Episode talk only. One would only expect only one thread about that episode. Others created would be merged together so there isn't 100 threads about the same episode. However, like the wiki we run, we consider it not a spoiler once it airs the first time.

I can always create a "prefix" that says "Season 4 Info" but applying that to a general threads that are already created is very trouble to edit and change at this point in the game.

We will have to talk about it as a group on how we want to deal with it, but I think it might be a problem to enforce a rule after the episode is already aired.

We could say that all spoiler information that is very significant, be in the tags, but "What is signifcant?". One thing in BSG changes the entire story line.

Tha's a good point Shane. I was thinking about those of us who might restrict our participation in the forum due to not having yet seen the latest episode and not wanting to find out too much before we see it. As things stand right now we are all in the same position since we have all seen season 3. Perhaps ike you say it's not really feasible to do what I suggested. I wonder how many members reside outside the USA

There are quite a few visitors from other regions, actually.

In my experience, the most technically proficient manage to snag episodes via file sharing sources, since they don't want to wait six months for the show to hit their own television outlets. We have a lot of those here, as do other forums. :)

Well, I am reading the articles of battlestarwiki for like a year now. But I never thought about signing up with a forum.

I just joined but it's not allowing me to enter the S4 spoilers forum. I got some interesting theories and am interested in what others have to say.

Whenever I try to go to that forum I get a message saying I don't have permission to view it...

Any ideas? Do I need some special indoctrination?

To remove the ability for people not wanting to view anything spoilerish, you have to join the public "Season 4" user group via the UserCP. You can visit the needed page by going here (http://battlestarforum.com/profile.php?do=editusergroups).
