Up until "Final Cut", I managed to watch every episode about as many times as it was aired by Sci Fi and didn't see any deviance from that trend. While I can't recall the details now, I ended up oversleeping through both airings and hated myself for it.

Any similar experiences or am I alone on this?

Well, I missed episodes because I either had early-arse morning meetings at my old job the next morning, so on Friday nights I'd try to sleep early. Moving it to Sunday didn't help much, because I was dog tired from working early on Sunday morning as well..

So I share the same loathing you do.

I didn't miss anything because I got them all at once :D BSG & ER are the only shows where I saw every episode.

dang cablebox conned me! i set it to switch channels so I could record BSG while being at work.
P.O.S. machine did not change channels.
So I came home to 1 hour of japanese anime on the kids channel.

but nothing beats attempting to program shows in advance BUT forgetting anything after midnight is actually "the day after tomorrow" not "tomorrow"

Actually I didn't miss any. I never saw it on TV, I don't even know what sound have the voices in my native language, to date I bought the DVDs and watched BSG that way , Same for Firefly and Serenity , the last five seasons of DS9 , 6 seasons of Voyager and many other shows

This possibly doesn't really count as missing but: I started to watch BSG relatively late, during the last few episodes of season 3 so I had a lot of catching up to do. And after hearing so many awful things about The Woman King, I decided to postpone that episode and only watched it after Crossroads II. Well, I was actually planning to not watch it at all but I was just too curious why so many people disliked it.

No matter how much people hate episodes, you should watch them all. They all offer something or another to the story, no matter how little or how much it sucks. You may end up liking an episode others don't.

Normally I think like that too but that particular episode seemed to be universally hated and also seemed to do to the exact opposite to Helo's character than intended, making him appear a tad unlikable (and I normally like Helo). But I actually have to admit that I was surprised after watching it because it wasn't as bad as I feared. It's still my least favorite BSG episode but I watched it with the lowest of low expectation sso it wasn't hard to be somewhat positively surprised.

Normally I would agree but as I said in another thread, I had missed "A Day in Life" and was actualy very worried about having missed it. However in the next episode, I saw nothing regarding A Day in Life in the "previously in Battlestar Galactica" and indeed, when I watched this episode sometime later, I saw I didn't lose much not watching this.

Never watched it on television (Season 2 is just repeated on Free, Season 3 is running on Pay) just bought the DVD's, so... never missed an episode so far.

"A Day in the Life" was filler, unfortunately. It was really an episode that should have been done in Season 1.

I've never seen the ep where Starbuck and Apollo were boxing and shagging. Unfortunatly I broke up with my boyfriend and he kept the DVDs we bought so I can't see it unless its repeated or I borrow it or something.

Excuse my spelling, i'm just another stupid German...

Don't worry, that's what spell check is for. And quite frankly, I've grown up with English and I still write badly with it, so you're in good company lol.

I admit I was a fan of the original series that I watched a lot in syndication as a kid so when the new series came about I should have jumped on it but didn't and I don't really know why? I love sci-fi. After there was no more new Star Trek I started watching the show right at the beginning of Season 2.0 after Adama was shot and the Centurions boarded the ship. After that I bought the miniseries, then bought season 2.0 and then season 1.0 in that weird order. I got to tell you that no matter that I had seen season 2.0 first...I was still amazed by the plot twist and seeing things play out even though I knew what was going to happen, this show is amazing!
