Most of us in the states have seen Barry Morse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Morse) in only two shows of note: The Fugitive and Space: 1999. But we could tell that he was a very good actor. In the case of 1999, he was likely miscast--a good actor amidst many so-so ones. Let history--and your comments--decide.

Well, he lived a long and fruitful life. That's all anyone can hope for, really.

And, yes, he was miscast in Space: 1999... but even then he did bring something to the show.

I remember "Space: 1999" but what I remember most was the ship used in the show :). The funniest thing is that here in Poland in the 80s we had a show called "Przybysze z Matplanety" (Visitors from Mathplanet) about two aliens who taught mathematics in a very easy way. They were called Pi and Sigma and they looked like Michelin tires :D

But what was the best in the show was the ship that looked like that!

Recognize? I didn't know that Polish producers used the ship form Space: 1999. How did they get the rights to use this ship I've no idea but it was so cool to see this ship when they started showing "Space:1999" in our television :D So many good memories.
Goodbye Barry, thanks for making my childhood so bright.
