So the 2007 The Academy of Science Fiction Fantasy & Horror Films Awards (Saturn Awards) are almost apon us and Galactica has got a few nominations.

Nominated: Battlestar Galactica TV Series, Sci-Fi Channel, for Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series
Nominated: Edward James Olmos as William Adama, for Best Actor in a Television Program or Series
Nominated: Katee Sackhoff as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, for Best Actress in a Television Program or Series
Nominated: James Callis as Gaius Baltar, for Best Supporting Actor on Television

My predictions

BSG will get hopefully get Best Syndicated but its up against Doctor Who so it will be tough. Eddie I think will lose out to Kiefer Sutherland from 24 which is a bit of a shame as I think he's easily better than the other nominations (Kyle XY... laughable). I also worry that Patricia Arquette will run away with the Best Actress award too which will annoy me greatly as I am strongly against people that claim to be mediums and the TV companies are only pumping money into the industry by promoting this trash. James Callis has got a chance too but Heroes is a new show this year so the public might vote for something fresher.

I can see BSG getting Best Syndicated.

Katee Sackhoff, to be honest, doesn't really deserve the Best Actress award... her portrayal of Starbuck is inconsistent at best. That should go to Grace Park simply for her potrayal of "Athena", but I digress. (If anyone should win, it should be that chick from Veronica Mars.)

Eddie and James deserve to win, but I don't think they will–particularly Eddie against Kiefer Sutherland, simply because Kiefer portrays a so-called "red-blooded American hero" in the easily escapist 24.

The only bright side of these awards seems to be that they'll likely be recognizing "Forbidden Planet" in the Best DVD Classic Film Release, seeing as the other ones, IMHO, suck. "Free Enterprise"? Pfft. C'mon...
