My best friend (or, at least I thought he was my best friend) bought me the official DVD for Galactica 1980 for Christmas.

This tragic news is balanced, fortunately, with my girlfriend's gift of a copy of Razor, so my descent into madness might be slowed...

Sell it on eBay. Quick! Or better yet, burn it.
And you need to officially end your friendship.

This reminds me of the email I got from Amazon after I bought "Razor". They thought I might like G1980 too...

With Serenity on what he said.

In the interests of full disclosure, I should note that, however, I *gulp* bought it. If only for "The Return of Starbuck".

I have not got it. Thank god parents/friends (minus u guys) know that I like Galactica. They might have bought it if they saw it.

In other news, they could be arrested for the illegal items. :D It's considered contraband in my book. :D

Damn, that's rough, I'm sorry. 1980 is the kind of thing that makes you realize that valuable seconds of your life are passing by.

I own Galactica 1980 as a reminder of how things went horribly wrong after the demise of The Original Series. By today's standards TOS seems campy to begin with, but by comparison Galactica 1980 is a disaster. In my opinion, Glen Larson is the only one to blame. After all, he created it for the network after they sunk TOS and he also wrote the stories for Galactica 1980. It's an embarassment to Battlestar Galactica fans which is why you won't find any special features on the DVD collection. I kinda feel sorry for the actors too. I liked Kent McCord from his days in Adam-12, but paired with Barry Van Dyke, Troy and Dillon seemed like the Duke boys from outerspace. And don't get me started on their matching puffy jackets and lame flying motorcycles!

When Wolfman Jack is your special guest star, things are pretty much toast.

I've spent the last nearly-30 years in denial, trying to forget what I saw as a 'tweener.

What an oldtimer! but you are one lucky flyboy, cause I wanted to add it to my collection but it seems they don't sell it here. I got only this in my collection: BSG original serie, BSG Season I, BSG Season II.
They also sell a BSG movie of the old serie, but i've read it just a compilation of the first episodes of the old serie.

Yeah, the movie was just the first two or three episodes tacked together. Amazingly, they got people to spend money to see in the theaters what they had already seen on TV! The effects were quite good for the time, even if Cylons appear to attack only in triplets at most, and usually singly.

All of this applies to the BSG TOS. G80... *collapses in fit on floor*.

It's about to come out in Region 2, not that I would advocate its purchase.
