Glowing Cylon Spine...Could It Be Done?

I just had a thought...could the glowing Cylon spine be done in a real live human?

If you had red LEDs installed below your skin, is there a biocompatible surface that would still transmit the light?

And how would they be powered? It shouldn't take THAT MUCH power, not like an artificial heart or even a pacemaker, maybe there's a way to turn body heat into a little bit of juice?

And what would actuate it? I mean you COULD have a manual switch under your skin, but that would be no fun. It should detect when you're getting your Cylon groove on and start glowing all of its own accord, but how would it sense that?

I know there MUST BE somebody out there crazy enough to do this.

I think this would be posible, Gods now what for but still in today's world there is probably somebody wanting to have glowing spine and a doctor who is willing to try to do it. Cylon spines only glow when they're aroused so maybe it would be possible to work in a similar way.
Well, anyway you could use as a flashlight during the night ;)

Well with the "body modification" enthusiasts out there, this probably wouldn't be consider TOO extreme. I'm just trying to figure out how it could be done.

In fact...if I didn't have to pay for the procedure, I might have it done myself...Just imagine the look on a girl's face the first time she gets your spine glowing and is like "Why's the room glowing red?" "Oh that's just my spine":D

Well. since Tricia Helfer is unavailable... ;) but the fact is that I love my girl even if she hates BSG and glowing spines :D

Well yeah. She hated pretty much everything I was into, cars, BSG, you name it. But she would have thought the spine was cool! :D

Ha! And I actually spoke with my girl and she said that though I'm crazy and she still hates Number Six, she also said that such a spine would be funny and even sexy but she's not sure if she wanted me to glow all night ;)
