I did a rudimentary search for this topic and didn't find anything of note, so sorry if this has been brought up a hundred times...
When my wife and I (and our little kitten Helo) were watching 'Flesh and Bone' the Cylon detector showed a positive test of Valerii in minutes, in 'Tigh me Up, Tigh me Down' it was stated that the test takes, what 11 hours? Whats the deal?
Again sorry if this was brought up. Thanks for any help...

Well, Baltar does go on to say that he made the Cylon detector report negative findings, because it's easier that way. So when dealing with anything Baltar says, consider the source... and that source's motivations.
It might take longer to confirm a "negative" result than a positive one, because radiation does have an effect on human cell structure as well. The Cylons just have a different reaction.

Interesting thing of note here....We never did find out what Ellen's result was. Baltar just told Head Six "I'll never tell". It would be interesting to know for sure.

We we're sure as hell gonna find out this season...either somebody else is a Cylon and Ellen's not, or Ellen will be coming back for Round 3.

That "I'll never tell" line was THAT one thing that made a chill crawl up my spine.
I love these secrets and conspirations, all the things YOU have to think about that are not all explained at the end of every "star trek-save-the-world-in-45-minutes"
And if Ellen is coming back... It's gonna be one hell of a comeback!

Definitely agree with ya Skyhawk. That line was chilling.
It would be interesting how they explain Ellen's comeback. But I think what'll happen is that Tigh'll have his own "Virtual Ellen"... which seems to be the case from what I've been reading online.

She's in some of the more recent behind the scenes pictures that were on Flickr a while ago, particularly with Michael Hogan.
Don't have a link though.

Um.
Either we're going to be having more flashbacks, or that's a dead giveaway...

I would think that if Ellen were a Cylon, and Baltar knew it, he might have thought of that during his whole quest for the Final Five. Would he have honestly forgotten that he discovered one of them and covered it up?

Good point. Now that begs the question...how did Tigh, Tyrol, Tory & Anders pass?

Good point. Now that begs the question...how did Tigh, Tyrol, Tory & Anders pass?I don't think Tory or Anders ever got screened.
But maybe when Baltar rigged the machine, he set it so that it just flashed green on everybody and didn't even tell him when it found a Cylon. And he didn't bother to check.

Right, there would be no reason to screen Anders, particularly since he was introduced late into the game. By the time he was brought to the Fleet, Baltar had decided to run his presidential campaign, plus it didn't seem that anyone else really helped Baltar with his testing.

Kind of a bummer that they essentially dropped that story line.
