I've been getting my fiancee caught up on BSG. She's watched season three with me on SciFi, but there's a lot of stuff she missed from the previous two.
As we've been going through the episodes, there have been two moments that I've found that has foreshadowed things that happen alomost two seasons later.
Season 1 - Bastille Day
When Lee confronts Adama and Roslin about having an election, Adama says, "You sound like a lawyer."
Interesting that at the end of Season three that's exactly what happens.
Season 2 - Home Part 2
This one's a little more subtle.
Adama's going over the tactical info for Kobol and says that the best way to avoid any potential Cylon ships will be to jump into the upper atmosphere.
Gaeta responds with(don't have the exact quote), "Sir, that would be extremely dangerous and I don't think you could do it with a ship this size."
Adama meant jumping a raptor into the upper atmosphere, not Galactica. But that's exactly what Adama does in Season 3 to rescue the people on New Caprica with his "Adama Maneuver."
With the amount of time that would've passed between writing and filming the episodes, either Ron and David had a lot of BSG's series arc figured out, or they've got a really good research/continuity team.
Either way, it's cool to find these nuggets.
If you haven't done so already, this will be a good time to go back and watch the first two seasons again knowing what we know now about some of the characters.
