I just picked up the new Battlestar Galactica Role Playing Game and I noticed it is full of data on the colonies (the solor system but no map, wher the colonies are located reletive to each other, etc.) and other things that were not aired on TV.

Is this game considered canon or is it like other RPSs like Star Trek that is not canon but it tries to fill in blanks to help make the game a little more playable?

Take care and please have a great Thanksgiving.

The game was designed and written by an outside company through a deal with Universal, so unfortunately no. It's only canon if it comes from the staff directly responsible for the show.

I was wondering about the game, is it any good? What's it like?

It's spelled "canon". A cannon is something you shoot with

And in general only on-screen stuff is canon. Whatever one puts into that word. Unless it's later contradicted by aired information, no one will hinder you from including it into your personal continuity.

Serenity, you are correct, but when you live with Dyslexia it is sometimes hard to use the correct spelling.

Orion, the game uses the same rule set as the Firefly (Serenity) RPG. It is OK, it is very simple and the weapons will kill you. For detailed reviews of the game please see your favorite role playing game site.

Sorry. No problem.

It's just that a lot of people really don't seem to know the difference between the words (and therefor not the actual meaning of "canon" which is an overused concept to begin with) and just write "cannon" instead, which is somewhat annoying :)
