Waving Hello~~
Love this website. Have saved it for a few months and now I have a post topic.
Wondering if there are other Portland/Area fans out there. Just moved here and am having a time locating others committed to the cause, lol!.
I'm driving to Auburn for the early viewing of Razor. Been looking for others who also have tickets who would like to carpool. In my car or theirs.
You can see my post on the Portland Craigslist (also comes up with Google). Listed under "activities." But works well if you search:
Battlestar Galactica Portland
P.S You may see this post on a few other forum websites as the film viewing is only a few days away. :)

I'm quite jealous of you.
Of course, it's warm enough to go swimming in the ocean right now, so I'm not THAT jealous :D
But on the day when you get to see Razor, I'm going to be REALLY jealous!
That's the one thing we all miss out on when we watch BSG...it would probably be SO much more impressive in a theater!

Yes, I was thrilled that I moved to a place where it is actually possible to see it on the Big Screen. Seattle was my first choice (Since Portland wasn't on the list. I mean, isn't Katee Sackoff from, here? Sheesh!). Apparently, those tickets went very fast. But thanks goodness they added an Auburn theater to the list! It's actually closer than Seattle, too. So in that way it works out.
I do have my hotel room booked already so that's a relief. But still have not found any fans in or near my new hometown. I'll still have fun, though - was just hoping to share the experience with others in this area.
I've only been here a few weeks but I'm hoping to successfully start a local fan club and/or Frak Party group after I find a cottage or apartment :D .
All Is Well!
So Say We All!

Hello! I'm new here as well. I am jealous of you! CLosest viewing for me is Chicago, but they are sold out & it's a 6 hour train ride.

I am going to go out on a limp with some seriously irresponsible speculation. But, I suspect (or maybe they've said it straight out) the reason for the theatrical showings is to get a feel for how well a movie franchise might do for the show. Let's keep our fingers crossed! I don't think 4 seasons is nearly enough to fully tell this story!

I'm pretty sure that they're going to finish the story in Season 4, this isn't like Firefly that got cancelled unexpectedly and needed a movie to conclude everything.
They might do a prequel movie, though, especially if the fans react well enough to the stuff about the first Cylon war to make a whole movie out of that.

Actually, assuming they do make it to earth, you have an entirely new story to tell. Which is really what I meant, I just phrased it incorrectly.

Ouch! 6 hours by train. Really, the tickets were free-Can it be that there were no other cities that would have appreciated this film? I always wonder about the rationale behind such decisions. I'm not in the know about how the little details work in "Hollywood." But Razor will be available on DVD on Dec 4. So not the usual length of wait time-a bit of good news there.
Really astute note on the possible movie franchise interest. And I did come very late to Firefly (saw on DVD) but really enjoyed it (!!!) and also Serenity. But understatement: I also hope there will be no reason to conclude the BSG drama with one measly film. I want and need a whole final season.

So there may be a Yahoo! Group or something else convenient forming
for Portland. Until it's figured out you can always do a search on the
Sci-Fi Channel's BSG forum for my user name (is the same) or maybe more
helpful, for "Portland" and or "Portland Razor." I don't usually post regularly
so it should be easy to find the messages. I'll update there and/or on the
Portland Craigslist. Most of the responses have come from these two places and it
will be easier to communicate from just a few net locales only. The e-mail list
is being worked on, too. For those that may show up here, who may want to be added
to it for our area.
The "travelers" may see this message in a few other BSG forums. Just trying to
coalesce the info, get better organized. :tos-cylon: :)
