I realized this while watching an episode of BSG. The episode and my theory are not related, but I had a revelation.
All of this has happened before, and will happen again.
Now, based on that, what if the Cylons ARE the Thirteenth Tribe, in this cycle. The tribes left kobol in the first exodus after the war with the gods, and that at one point in history, humanity and the gods, lived in harmony. What if, the story has been skewd a little bit.
At one point, the Cylons and humans lived in, a kind of harmony. But, war broke out, and the colonies had an exodus. There is again, the twelve tribes, except this time, on (supposedly or lead to believe) twelve different world. With this theory, it would mean that "all things happened before, and will happen again", but not in an exact repeat. The basic tune to the song is the same, but each cycle is covered by a different artist. First, it's Bob Dylan, next it's Jimi Hendrix, and third it's Bt4.
So, in a scene, the humans of Earth, may possibly be Cylons, from a previous cycle. It also means, if it exist, the Cylon homeworld could potentially be another "Earth" for the next cycle.

That phrase should be banned in standalone usage, and only permitted in a discussion about what it actually means. Anyway...
Now, based on that, what if the Cylons ARE the Thirteenth Tribe, in this cycle.
Wouter and ThPrime have recently provided us with information about that in this (http://www.battlestarforum.com/showthread.php?t=1743) thread, particularly: the Aaron Douglas SFX magazine interview (http://www.game-warden.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6557) and the Ask Ausiello spoiler (http://www.tvguide.com/Ask-Ausiello/070801). I think it's more likely to be from the previous cycle though.

The Thirteenth Tribe left Kobol many hundreds of years before the remaining twelve left.

The original Cylons, the Thirteenth Tribe, leaving Kobol and settling on the thirteenth colony (Earth, actually the first colony) is very similar to the new Cylons leaving the colonies and settling on the Cylon Homeworld. That's the repetition in the cycle I think.

I found this on patriotsource.com. What do you think?
8/28/08: In an interview, Aaron Douglas states that Anders, Tigh, Tory and Tyrol are original Cylons and thus "one-offs." He says that they were part of the thirteenth colony on Kobol, which was the one colony that left to find or found Earth. Once Earth was destroyed, they left to find the other twelve colonies in a pursuit of understanding the cycle of creativity and destruction. They "turned off" their Cylon part and joined the colonies. Their proximity to Earth caused their awakening. From SFX Magazine Interview (http://www.battlestarforum.com/FCx(this.href);) [Even though it just feels like the actor filling into some details with his own speculation, this actually fits with clues we had known such as that the four were fundamentally different, that Earth in the book of Pythia is refered to as Cylon and the cycle of time. How we do hope that there is more to it like maybe the four of them are the ones that left the clues that the fleet has been following.]
Don't know if we should take this literally or not. But because it was related to this topic, I thought I post it. Either Douglas is trying to fool us or he is giving us a big clue to the origin of the F5, the Thirteenth tribe, and the finale. If anyone else has heard or read a spoiler similar to this, please post it for us.

Just out of curiosity, where does the story line of Caprica fit in with the story line of the tribes? The cylons were invented during the time line of the new series Caprica werent they? That is only 40-50 years before bsg. The tribes were hundreds of years before that. I really hope that Caprica doesnt ruin bsg for us all.

That TPS' rewording of the snippet from the SFX interview that was posted by Werthead on BtRL - see my post above.

If you read the links above you'll understand how it can fit, if the MASSIVE SPOILER (you've been warned) is true (I think it probably is).

I defiantly share this particular part of your theory. I hate to believe that the exact thing happens over and over the same way, thats just not realistic to me. When they talk about this has happened before and will happen again, i think they are just referring to the cycle of self destruction (creating AI) the humans keep getting stuck into.
On that note though, there is a lot of dialog in the show that would go against this theory. A lot of the times when Leobin talks about this, he clearly (at least to me) states that the same thing keeps happening in the same exact way, but the "players" might be switched up, for example next time Kera would play his role and vise versa.

That would imply that everyone is a cylon and there's a third player involved.
I don't think that the writers are factoring in relativistic theory in space travel. If they were so careful to keep it realisitc then there would be no gravity inside the space ships.

We've been given enough information for an astonishing revelation: The Five come from the home of the Thirteenth. That is, the Final Five come from the home of the Thirteenth Tribe, which is apparently the planet called Earth in Revelations.
The way it ties into the series Caprica is this. The planet in Relevations was nuked between 40 and 300 years ago. If it were nuked much more recently, RDM would not have called for a more aged appearance. If it were nuked longer ago, then much less would be left standing, if their building materials are like ours OR like the 13 tribes on Kobol (who, you remember, had skyscrapers.) I think it's likely that members of the 13th Colony, possibly survivors of the apocalypse, infiltrated the 12 Colonies around 70 years ago, including a baby Tigh. This is how Tigh predates the creation of the mechanical Cylons - because he doesn't. He only predates the creation of the mechanical Cylons in the 12 Colonies, not on the 13th Colony.
All of this has happened before, relatively recently.
The similarities between Kobol and the planet in Revelations are extremely striking. Kobol was destroyed by a "Blaze," which is implied to be nukes, because of the boom-boom sounds looking at the ruins in the recon pictures in KLG1. Kobol had skyscrapers, according to the Book of Pythia. On one page in the Book of Pythia there is a drawing of Kobol's city and its great domed opera house in the middle, and on the very next page there is a close-up drawing of the domed Temple of Aurora, as if it were the same structure. I strongly suspect that if you could ask survivors of the 13th Colony what planet that is in Revelations, they would say, "It's Kobol, of course! We're what's left of the 12 tribes. Are you from the 13th Tribe? Do you have any idea where Earth is?"
