Of the episodes set on Kobol/Caprica/Galactica this is my least favorite. It kind of reminds me of an episode of 'Desperate Housewives':) i.e. the episode says something like "Here are the highlights of what happened today on Galactica, Kobol and Caprica" but the problem is I don't have a sense of something happening in between those 'highlights'. For example, the early part of the chase of Helo and Starbuck is shown and then suddenly they're at the place where Anders is pointing his gun at Helo. Also the realisation that both groups are humans is not fleshed out. There's too much of ths in this episode, that is, as a viewer the writers are asking me to assume too much. Perhaps I'm being harsh as the previous few episodes were so good but I think that there are problems with this episode.

Amazing scene where the crew of the Galactica want their frakkin' coffee and board the civ-ships. I don't know whether the scene in Razor (alluded to by Fisk) came first, or if it was developed from this scene, but what a stroke.

Cottle: "What do you expect, Genius?" Classic.

I liked the introduction of Anders. No messing about - first scene shown from his perspective, no explanation.

Angry love scene 'twixt Saul and Ellen, similar to Saul vs. Caprica Six, instantly followed by poor sad Boomer trying to be straight with the intransigent Tyrol. Interesting comment from Boomer ("this test doesn't work too well...") who seems to have totally accepted the fact that she's a Cylon. Or maybe she's just being sarcastic.

"How many Cylons left in the fleet?"

"Eight - there are Eight." The only number that comes into her head, surely. I love that line. I hate humans, incidentally, by this point.

Interesting comments from bazzyb about "here are the highlights" coz I was just wide-eyed thinking "wow! action, action, action". It's relentless. Short, snappy scenes with not much in the way of extended conversations. Even the Gaeta/Dualla scene is snappy.

Love the twitch in Adama's hand after Lee's farewell.

Ouch, Jammer. No need for "you wanna get pissed at someone go get pissed at Boomer." Don't you know Cally's a thick, cabbage-smelling, irrational retard who takes what you say at face value? That's why she only got thirty days in the brig: "Jammer told me to do it."

Roslin's a bitch but she's a brave bitch, and the break-up from Billy is surprisingly emotional... given that it gets about three seconds screen time.

I'll say something about the Raptor taking off from the Galactica with Roslin and Elosha onboard. That Jamie Bamber dude has got some serious screen charisma. I think there was a bit of JamBam adoration after Revelations, but there hasn't been much on this forum. Maybe we should start an Apollo-Camera 'shipper thread.

Hogan's cheek should win an Oscar.

Even with his spacked-up eye twitch Tom Zarek carries a degree of screen charisma too.

Pyramid scenes. They suck. Ass.

Poor Boomer. A lab rat. I hate humans. Did I say that?

Aah. 'dama. The return of the prodigal father. Nice 'second guess' speech from him. But wow: "Then we'll pick [the pieces] up togetherwhere'smyson?"

Boomer. :cryin:

Loved the rip on Cally. She is not one of my favorite characters, but she did evolve into one of the key personalities on the flight deck. By the way, I think her husband, Tyrol, said something similar after the funeral service for her. Something about dull, cow-like eyes, etc. Even harsher than your comment - ouch!
