View Full Version : What will be the very last line spoken on BSG?

TPL2008
August 12th, 2008, 12:15 AM
The most obvious one has to be:

All of this has happened before and will happen again.

Perhaps another will be:

By your command.

Though that hasn't been used much in the new series.

The other possibility is that it will be something completely off the radar, like Adama saying:

Gods I need to pee. Before he rushes off.

Osprey

by you command was the last line for the miniseries and has since almost completely disappeared, so prolly not ...

i'm as sick of athhbaatwha as i am about final cylon speculation [see my sig.!] so i sincerely hope not ...

fwiw, i simply don't think rdm puzzles over these details as much as he tries to wrap up the multiple arcs he has left, hence the last line will be something one step from random, and potentially pretty banal ...

The other obvious one would be "sometimes you gotta roll a hard six" and that will almost certainly feature in the final eps. but whether im not so sure you could fit it in as the final line.

I'd rather the actors in the last scene use body language or no actors and maybe some well done symbolism/imagery relating to whatever because as it the presumably series finale it should hold weight and not be some cheesy cliffhanger so they can pump out another paycheck.

The end of BSG: forward 5,000 years to the next cycle... the Battlestar Kursplactica is ready to be turned into a museum and we see Commander Caprica Sixus walking down the hallways. A young pilot comes jogging by. "What do you hear, Leoben?" "Nothing but the rain, sir." Que dramatic music, and count down to our minds getting blown by the sheer stupidity of it all.

I really hope that the actual toasters, that is the centurions, become more significant in their role. So far the skin jobs have been the main focus. At the end I hope the see the robots cleaning up the remains of the humans and skin jobs and setting up for the next cycle - then again pretending to be the servants. To me bsg was supposed to be man vs. machine.

Just to be dull and serious for a moment - for me, from pretty early on, it was meant to be man vs. man. The Cylons were always a mirror of man's soul.

Britney Spears is the final cylon.....after singing "oops i did it again... i made you believe that you are more than just friends." This is a direct reference to the relationship between the Humanity and Cylonity. This has been the whole focus of BSG from the beginning. After she finishes singing, she gets out of the car and the screen fades......and the whole human/cylon cycle starts again.

True. Man vs. Man driven by fear of the unknown and each side paranoid that the other was out the get them. I do recall the cylons making comments on the base ship to the effect we better get them before they get us.

heres my prediction: Earth revealed to be original homeworld, they leave to find the 13th Colony, they find the 13th colony (possibly kobol), right before they land Roslin is killed, and Bill Adama passes away in his sleep little bit after they land.

It ends with somone saying "But parents have to die. It's the only way children come into their own"

LoL not sure if this would be a good ending or not but hey just a possiblity I thought up

ugh! I'd literally burn all my BSG discs and then go for hypnotherapy so that I'd forget the whole series.

I think the only satisfying ending would be this;

Adama wakes up, sweating and afraid. He gets out of bed and looks in the mirror whilst splashing himself with water.

The next shot is him walking out of his door and being met by a two-eyed Tigh who says 'you look like you've seen a ghost'.

Adama replies 'yeah I feel like I have'.

Tigh's all like 'well anyway, you need to get focussed. Today's a big day for you. It's not every day a Battlestar gets decommissioned' just as they are walking past the gift-shop.

AKA Lolz it was all a dream.

You guys should all read "The Road" by Cormack McCarthy. It is a really spare story of a father carrying his son to safety. BSG will end in a similar way, I think, with Adama and Roslyn the parents crrying the fleet to safety.

I think the last line will be the same as the first, as someone has already said, "are you alive?".

Stairway

I don't think "are you alive? will be the last line of the show, but I do think it will be the first line in the last episode. Cliffhanger from last week's, ... "are you alive?" That would be neat.

I predict an ending similar to "Heart of Darkness".
The ending will be a commentary about man's inner evil...or something like that.

Bluce_Ree
September 5th, 2008, 04:25 AM
The ending will be Kara Thrace chased through a robotics factory by Leoban. She'll get a big bit of shrapnel in her leg which'll slow her down but just before he gets to her she'll crush him in a crushy machine and will say 'You're terminated, fucker'.

Either that or he'll fall into the furnace of a steel workings.

The Dirt

Good thing this show isn't made in Hollywood, or that would certainly be true. Can someone tell me how many Hollywood movies end in a factory/steel yard/warehouse/mill/seaport? If the place is abandoned but somehow still fully functional or fully functional but completely vacated (probably due to the fact that "sh*t is about to go down"). We had a bit of this in the Mini.

Maybe, we'll get to see Galactica's engine room for the first time. Adama will shove some Cylon's head into the FTL drive, and the head will jump into the middle of a star. This severed head will somehow have a major adverse reaction (probably due to the silica pathways) with the star and it will go supernova causing the fleet to have to jump in the last possible second (because any second sooner would not have the same dramatic effect). As Adama starts to walk away, the Cylon headless corpse comes back to life and Adama will have to beat it with a flashlight or a rusty pipe. Finally, once it's pretty clear that the (final) Cylon is dead, Adama will slowly walk into the sunset (or in lieu of sunset since this is a battlestar engine room, an excessively lit hallway). Fin

How about something similar to the last "real" Dune book? The humans and the Cylons settle down to live someplace together, but some humans jump away in the Galactica because they just can't trust the Cylons. In that case, the last words will be "Jumping in three...two...one..." This is what the most current Duncan Idaho ghola did with Bene Geserit rebels and a sandworm, at the end of Dune: Chapterhouse.
