Galactica 1980 is possibly coming to DVD around new year:

You know you wanted this for years!

By the lords of F***ing Kobol...
I guess this was inevitable. I hope they at least have extensive and brutally honest commentary from those involved... and by commentary, I mean getting the people behind MST3K to rip 1980 a deserved one.
What they should do is release "The Return of Starbuck" as a separate DVD with interviews from Dirk Benedict, Glen Larson, et al, for those of us that don't care for the series in general.

Well... at least we can get some decent screencaps of the horror now (although we're likely violating the Geneva conventions by doing so).

The Geneva Conventions only apply to the treatment of wounded, prisoners and civilians in times of war.
However, there is the Universal Declaration of Human Rights :)
Article 5 would probably apply:
No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

In that case, we should ship these over to Bin Laden and his cronies... :D

Aw...man...
And I just ate before reading this...
Teh gods have a weird sense of humor...first ripping BSG and other good stuff from iTunes, then threatening us with this poodoo....

With all the things they still need to put on DVD, they chose 1980?!
Hell, I can come up with a few properties that deserve to be put on DVD. "The Invisible Man" for one. Same goes for the short-lived "Mission Genesis", which wasn't that bad of a show.
Oh, and "Blake's 7" as well. I know it's out on DVD in the UK, but it still needs to come here as well.
Felgercarb!
On the bright side, at least it'll have "The Return of Starbuck".

Santa is going to give copies of it to all the naughty kids instead of coal this year.

And the only reason why Rudolph's nose is red is because it's just a bloody rind.
Also, somewhat on topic, the set doesn't come out until after Christmas.

The "Final Season" tagline sucks. G80 is usually considered a completely new series.
Over here, it's actually shown as a direct continuation and I've tried to tell some people that that's nonsense.

The tag line is clearly one to entice people who may have watched the original BSG, but haven't heard much about 1980.
It's really false advertising... but it's not at the same time, because it tries to be a direct continuation, but the show is different entirely. In a bad way.

Yeah. As kid I didn't know the details behind the show, so it seemed to make sense in some way. But even then I wondered about the radical shift in style with G1980 and its extreme silliness.

I rather liked the flying bikes. The rest,... meh, you know how that goes.
