The Apogee Guys Were Really Stressed

As a humorous bit of TOS trivia, the special effects folks at Apogee were getting extremely frustrated at the unreasonable hours and insane deadlines they were forced to work to get the visuals done for the pilot/movie called "Saga of a Star-World". They decided to take out said frustrations in the form of a particular remark on the matte painting of the Caprica city lights. It was so well hidden that it got past the censors. The offending remark was circled in red.

The lawsuit actually came a little later, as I recall. This one was focused strictly at the producers for cutting their budget and timetables to get things done.

Well, while the lawsuit didn't happen until much later, there were already legal issues brewing before that lawsuit manifested itself officially...

The production had troubles with Lucas even before BSG started, which lead to the list of 200+ things that they couldn't do. (A document I've been trying to get my hands on for a while now, but no joy.)

As for the budget thing... to be honest, if you've read Colla's interview at Galactica.TV, you know that the budget they had for the pilot was impossible to meet in the first place.

Incidentally, when one is in Kobenhavn (or whatever borough the aquarium is in, where they have all the barbecues on the east coast) and you're looking east onto Sweden, why isn't that shit built up with tenement blocks housing drug addicts and prostitutes? All you can see is green rolling hills and original beauty. Wouldn't you want to put the dregs of your society down there by Denmark?

If you're stood on the east coast of Copenhagen looking east at Sweden, it looks beautiful, unspoilt, green rolling hills. Behind you you have Copenhagen's mess of a city. Why does Sweden present that image of itself to Denmark? I take it you've been to Copenhagen?
