Hello, all. I posted this on some other forums and wanted to get a broad opinion on this. I know G1980 is generally a sore spot for most fans of TOS, but it did have the one interesting addition of the new Cylon A/B Heavy Raider. Schematic here:

Does anyone know what ever happened to the original miniature or have any pics of it besides what has been seen on screen? It was initially seen briefly (and by briefly I mean no more than 2 seconds of screen time) in "The Super Scouts Pt. 1" as it was strafing the cargo freighter Delphi (which was really the Gemini Freighter from TOS), necessitating the kids on board to be moved safely to Earth where they engaged in their little low-grav antics. It saw a lot more screen time in "The Night The Cylons Landed Pt. 1". It was damaged in a skirmish with Vipers and re-entered in a slow orbit down to Earth.

Reference to it here on the Battlestar Wiki (http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/The_Night_the_Cylons_Landed%2C_Part_I)

Two photos of this miniature have, in fact, surfaced - they're on the Resin Illuminati BBS, which is quickly becoming quite an amazing source of TOS BSG reference material. Here are the links:

It really is a bad-ass little ship.

Honestly, this ship is probably the best thing to come from 1980... Where did the schematic come from? Was it made based off the resin model?

Actually the schematic was done by me several years ago for my own personal site http://www.shipschematics.net/ because I thought it was a tremendously cool design and had to include it because nobody knew anything about it at the time. After having finally gotten a hold of the two studio model shots I have since realized that what I did was painfully inaccurate in places, but there are some people out there at Resin Illuminati (http://www.resinilluminati.com/) trying to recreate it.

Update on this - there is a builder ("OTIST") that managed to get vacuformed molds off the original and is merging them with a Studio Scale Raider. This thing is going to be immense!

Excellent. :D

I'm actually excited about this. Sad.

Oh, me too. Rumor has it that, once complete, there may be molds run off the master and kits available. Likely won't be cheap though, if true.
