View Full Version : So there were five cylons in a bar and the first one says...

Has anyone considered that the final 5 were inserted into the human populous by the humanoid-cylon-creators (whoever they are), as a buffer, to keep the humanoid-cylons from annihilating mankind in the event that what they'd created might seek to destroy that which they'd chosen to ignore/forget?
Is this just a daft idea, with a paucity of understanding of the show?
The thought just occurred to me and I thought I'd put it out without any real contemplation or oompah oompah, I know the answer, (pretty much because it's rubbish)...

IF that were the case [which on its face i'd reject] the ploy failed -- humanity would have been wiped out in the first battle were it not for an old ship, a plucky commander, and a, ahem, "ballsy" admiral to have kept 2 capital ships and a band of survivors afloat ...
also against the theory -- within that band were 3 of the final 5, with another that just happened to be on caprica AND avoided death from the nuclear strikes ...

but all four had managed to maneouver themselves into the only group of humans left? (What was Anders doing during his Caprica tenure?) Kind of in the event of total annihilation, the protection of the last remnants is their job; picking Adama's ship was a pretty nifty idea, (non-linked computers, commander with much experience as evidenced by the good old flashbacks, the ship kept battle ready despite being in the process of becoming a museum...).
I must say that I don't follow this idea myself as it's rubbish, but I was thinking about the end of the series leading to the Caprica show, and maybe that the answers will have to involve the reason for humanoid-cylons being created (as they obviously date back further than the cylon-holocaust), the connection between the Adamas and the cylon/humanoid-cylons' creators, why the cylons are interested in Earth in particular, (It can't be to destroy the 13th tribe as the humans wouldn't have led the cylons there in that case), and ultimately, what all this God/Gods messing about with people's heads is all about. :)

Aww, I was looking forward to a pun...
Two hydrogen atoms meet. The first one says, 'I've lost my electron!'
The other one says, 'are you sure?'
The first then replies, ' yes, I'm positive...'

That is a good point. The chance that there would be cylons strategically located at the only points of survival (that we know of) by accident is unlikely. This might seem to indicate that the F5, (and perhaps their human co-planners) knew there would be survivors and who/where they would be.
This would further indicate that they had always planned for cylons and the human survivors to find earth together. If total destruction of humankind were the goal, nd they knew who/where the survivors of the attack would be, then why not finish them off right away?

So if we speculate that this was part of the 'cylon' plan, this could begin to explain the resurrection of the daughter on the Caprica show trailer into (seemingly), a human body, not as I would have thought, into a cybernetic/robotic/whatever body. Of course, if it is a human-cylon that's created in Caprica, why are they surprised by the skin-jobs? Why were they fighting bloody robots? I've heard that it also has the primary issue of a monotheistic cult, surely of no small significance.
