Howdy, folks; saw the sizes of old/new BSG and Pegasus on the Battlestar Wiki, and while the old BSG had a very detailed explanation on how they arrived at that size, the source materials for the sizes of new BSG and Pegasus were not as thorough. Did the sizes of new BSG/Pegasus come from the studios, or fan-made?

I did find some stats on new BSG from the BSG role-playing game. While not "canon", it did offer that the ship was 4593 feet long x 1725 feet wide x 739 feet tall, which is different from the wiki stats.

Is there any information on the sizes of the old and new basestars?

Thanks, and glad to be here.

IIRC, the sizes of the new battlestars came from Zoic, the company who made the meshes and models before handing all that over to the in-house team. (Of course, many of the people who worked for Zoic became the in-house team.)

Of course, the Zoic sources have since dried up a bit, and obviously I do agree that the figures on the battlestars could be better sourced.

Joe, I looked briefly at the forum before posting this question, but I imagine the question has been asked before...is there a link to an old forum or thread in which the sizing issues have been discussed at length?

Thanks for the info on Zoic...I had thought it was a fan-based work and not a studio-based work, so now that I know I think that gives it more legitimacy than (not to knock it) fan-based work, in terms of "canon".

I would have thought the ships would have been discussed more in the BSG Magazine, but have not seen recent issues...maybe it has.
