I believe it was in "Torn," in the scene where Baltar makes his first visit to the control room of the basestar and he speaks briefly with one of the Doral models. Baltar makes some comment about himself being the first human aboard a basestar, and the Doral replies with something about how does Baltar know he's the first. The Cylons, if they did have other humans aboard the basestars, what do we think they would do with them? We know that they tried "farms" on the Colonies, where Starbuck was temporarily imprisoned, to try and have hybrid babies with captive human women. I don't think the Cylons would bother keeping any regular old Joes or Janes around just for conversation, so what would they do with other high value prisoners, such as Gaius? Is Doral just messing with Baltar? The Dorals do seem to be sneaky ones. Speculation, anyone?

Daniel Novacek was on a Basestar before Baltar.

Thanks for the reminder, Genji2000. I had almost forgotten about him. It's a pity that Bulldog hasn't shown up in any other episodes yet. HIs accomodations were nowhere near as comfy as Baltar's though, were they? It seems that if you just parked a Centurion in the room, you could let the prisoners run free, 'cause they ain't goin' noplace with one of the Centurions on guard.

As for any other captured high value colonials, perhaps brainwashing? Would the Cylons have just tossed 'em out the airlock, seeing as how they were bent on genocide at first? Certainly, as they seem to have perfected their humanoid models' biology and organic bits, they wouldn't need to keep any around for anatomy lessons (as young Wm. Adama saw in the first war). What possible uses could Doral have meant?

I agree, a wasted character, but that's the life of a guest star.

You mean sharing a bed with a Three and a Six? No.

I don't think Doral mentioned uses, that was Aurora's question wasn't it?

I think he was just referring to Bulldog.

I believe the line was "Oh, they have their uses," without going into any further detail. The action then moved on, and Baltar had to go do something else.

You mean sharing a bed with a Three and a Six?
Comfortable, but Baltar did have to participate in the deaths of billions of people and continue to betray the remnants of the human race to rate that kind of treatment.

That question wasn't mine...I hadn't thought about other humans on basestars before. :)

I don't think Doral was just messing with Baltar...I think it will be significant later, that humans may have colluded with Cylons for the attack on the colonies (this topic discussed elsewhere here).

Sorry, Aurora, what was I thinking? I meant BSGfan-atic's question, of course.

This little incident was from a deleted scene. AFAIK it was the only instance where the presence of humans on Basestars was referred to. However, it may not have been cut for that reason - it's quite a long, pace-killing scene, and the Cylons mostly look like they're in a trance, or communicating telepathetically.

That would be an interesting possiblity wouldn't it? The scene where Starbuck is confronting Kat about her past alludes to this. She says something along the lines of "They say that smugglers got the Cylons into the Colonies." Or something to that effect. I think it was in "The Passage." Definitely Season 3. It would also be a little bow to TOS and its arch-villain, Baltar. BTW, where else is it discussed here? Thanks.

As genji pointed out, the prisoners aboard baseships thing was only explored in "Hero". And, if you want to get really technical, it's nothing "new" since the First Hybrid's baseship had human prisoners—although they had a short shelf life.

Beyond that, no joy.
