Anyone have an opinion on Knol?

It just launched today, and can be found here:

http://knol.google.com/

It's supposed to be something like Wikipedia, but with a Citizendium slant. Meaning no "anonymous" users can contribute, everyone must use their real names, and there's tighter control of the articles.

well, those controls will surely give it a leg up over wiki, unless they counter with something similar. 'course, it will be interesting to see how they treat 2 "authorative" authors who will post very different things about the same topic, eh?

i have deep antipathy towards google's corporate politics, so frankly i'd just assume this crashes & burns, but that's my cynical side talking ...

not to mention its various uses for spam (http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2008/aug/07/searchengines.spam), (seemingly not a widely published flaw)...
