The Battlestar Artemis is, like the Galactica, one of the final Columbia class Battlestars in service. This aging warship, still powerful and graceful, is one of the grand old ladies of the fleet. Despite this, time and technological advancement have brought her time to a close. It was during her final patrol along the reaches of the Cylon Armistice Line that the Cylons annihilated the Colonies. The Artemis jumped into the fray at the last minute, after the rest of the fleet, minus the Galactica and the Pegasus, had been reduced to burned out hulks, or shattered beyond recognition in the blazing fury of nuclear inferno. The Artemis fought as best it could, but was forced by sheer numbers to flee, though with quick thinking and quick action, the vessel was saved any real damage.
Now, the Artemis has jumped away, into the wild darkness of the reaches of deep space. Where they will go, no one knows. Will they find a new home, will they find other survivors, will they survive, or will they fall, like the rest of the fleet, to the powerful Cylon war machine?
