So this came to me while walking through the parking lot a sec ago.

Pythia is the last Cylon, that would explane how she knows everything, how the 5th wasn't in the fleet, and how RDM would have known she was the 5th till in season 1.

I'll work on the proof more after Kara.

That would make the last Cylon the oldest living being in the universe, eh?

I suppose the Final Fifth Cylon could become this Cycle's 'Pythia', but I'd rather connect Pythia with her fellow soothsayers, the Cylon Hybrids.

Who is Pythia, apart from some bird who lost her scrolls? This is too much for me. When I watch a movie, I have about two hours of stuff to process. Here, there are about seventy episodes of events and information to make sense of. Then someone introduces something new into the mix, and all the chips go up in the air again. This is definitely a young manīs game.

I'm not criticising you asking on the forum, but there is a ton of information on the wiki and it's pretty concise and to the point:

Just use search towards the top left.

Timbo, think Oracle of Delphi. She's featured prominently whenever Elosha is on the screen, or a character is flipping through enigmatic religious texts :p

Okay, thanks dudes.

Although I think I tried the wiki thing, but the colours were abrasive, and I had to go and lie down after five minutes.

Simplicity is the thing. One show, one forum, one God.

If you edit "my preferences" at the top of the wiki Main Page and select the "Skin" tab then you can choose BSGMonoBook (remember to Save Changes), which makes it look a bit like wikipedia (although search results still seem to come up in the brown/yellow colour scheme).

And that's exactly why I think it isn't someone like Pythia or Kara's mother or some other minor character we haven't seen much of during the past seasons. After all, the final cylon is likely a character who being revealed has a certain dramatic impact- but then again, there are only few characters now in my opinion who's revelation as a cylon could possible top Tigh being one of the Final Five.

That seems like WAY too much of a stretch. It would suggest some degree of immortality.

On the other hand, Pythia might be a computer system. Anyone consider that?

I had not thought of that.

Part of what I like about BSG is religion, faith and all that jazz are a backdrop for the story. So far, all the explanations we've gotten (which truth be told, haven't been many) are rooted in some form of reality. They haven't thrown any reasoning like..."well God thought X would be cool, so there ya go". I also think they'll be keeping away from answers like that. They'll leave the more spiritual questions the unanswered ones, as each person can take something different from them.

I think our final Cylon, whoever it is, will be a character we've seen on the screen and whose name appears in the opening credits.

So it could all just be a projection and Ron Moore is the final Cylon?
