Hello everyone. I am new to the forums here, but not new to the concept. My friend pagad is a regular poster here, and I am writing a story which began in another forum, but now has been moved to the Battlestar Pegasus wiki. Please feel free to comment and ask questions, I am always happy to answer them. Cheers, and enjoy! :)

Hello Mercer. Welcome to the forum. Pagad is a deliberate thorn in my side as I hope I am in his. :)

I will have a read of your work over the weekend if I get the chance. Pagad's is quite good I think.

Well, it's ok, I guess.

I think Pagad's is great. He is quite the writer. :)

Thanks for the welcome, and I look forward to your comments.

I shall make sure to judge any work of yours through a similarly-tinted lense. :)

I just finished reading it, don't worry, even if you have to wait long. People will read it. At first, Pagad's story wasn't really succesful either, but it became succesful. I think that it's a pretty good story, but you are introducing a lot of new things at once. Perhaps you can try to bring it a bit more spread.

Oh, and give me some more information about the Black Eagle and perhaps you could even focus on a real rescue mission on Virgon (to save a government-official or retrieve some crap) or something, not that Caprica-bullcrap. I'm only giving you tips about what I would like, I'm not saying the rest would like it.

Well, first of all, thanks. :D

I found this pic on another site, and I will be loosely basing mine off of it.

Class: Black Eagle

Weapons: 2 Internally fired, externally mounted .50 Caliber Mini-guns. (There will be eight ammunition repositories that give each gun up to thirty minutes of continuous fire), 1 Under-nose 30mm Three barrel Gatling gun, (It will have a limited ammunition supply, only 2 minutes of continuous fire), its like the gun on the A-10 Warthog tank buster, 4 Hard-points on the wings, (Able to mount missile pods, nukes, or fuel pods),

Engines: Six afterburners, four up and behind the wings, and two on the back.

Cargo Capacity: Here is something that makes the Black Eagle unique, it is designed funny, it looks weird from the side because it is meant to carry a cargo container that contains weapons, supplies, 3 Hummer type vehicles (will be designed later), or 2 Colonial Main Battle Tanks. These containers can also be switched out for some armored, personel transport container giving the Black Eagle the capability to land 45-60 Marines (25-30 Without container).

This class is designed as a Raptor on steroids. It is meant for close fire support to marine ground forces, and is meant to land the ground forces. (Its bottom is heavily armored.)

As I said, my design will require changes to the one above, and I will do so soon (on paper, I cant model) and I should have it in soon.

I like the idea for a rescue mission. I am planning to do one soon, you just gave me a great idea. :) Thanks!

I know I am introducing alot at once, this is my first draft. Once I get to a point in the story where there is a lull, I will go back, and edit, re-write things so they flow better, add more content, cut some things that dont make sense. Thats just how I write, i know its weird, but it works. :D

Oh, and here are some drawings of Admiral Warren, Commander Warren, and Gina I did for something else. The two Warrens were really quick 30 minute sketches, I will do some higher quality ones later...

Damn, I really like those drawings. It seems you're really putting effort in your story's background. Keep up the good work and I would like to see some more drawings if you introduce new things! Oh, and you only used your Black Eagles on the ground. Is it possible to use them in space? Your Black Eagle also looks a lot like a Pelican, but don't worry because I like them:lol:. And how much Battlestars and Support ships are left? 10? You're telling that 6 Battlestars have survived but I can't make up the Support ship count.

You should upload the drawing of Gina to aylinn's Six Sense social group:

Okay, the pic is in the group. :)

Now about the support group. There are six battlestars left operating. The other five are damaged heavily and are awaiting repair at the shipyard there. The total support ships (military warships) were, 6 Strikestars, and 2 Valkyries (not of the Mk. 2 variant). These i added to the overall operating battlestar tally. Admiral Warren's battlegroup had the Atlantia Class, a Mercury, and two Galactica Types.

Here is the overall tally:

1 Atlantia Class
5 Updated Galactica Type
2 Mk. 2 Valkyrie Type
2 Mk. 1 Valkyries
1 Mercury Class

I might add a Columbia class (I am basing all of my ship classes off of the Battlestar Galactica Fleet Commander Homeworld 2 mod) The Columbia is a big ugly bastard with a lot of guns. I am not sure.

Here is the damaged ships and their damage:

3 Galactica's (2 Heavily Damaged, 1 Moderately Damaged)
2 Mk. 2 Valkryie Types (2 Heavily Damaged)

And yes, the Black Eagles can fly in space. :) That why they have two of these mounted outside, but controlled by gunners from the inside:

This has been changed of course, there is no handle on the back of them, and they look more BSG-y.

Damn those babies look mean! There are a lot more Battlestars in this story then in other stories, are you planning big space battles where a lot of Battlestars will die or is this information classified?

Nay, there will be no major battlestar deaths. Maybe one or two a long way down the line. I was tired of all these stories being about 1, 2 maybe 3 battlestars. My story will be more difficult because there is enough military force for them to split and fracture and still survive, it will be Admiral Warrens duty to hold the fleet together.

Did you know, they are overloaded with crew? Five other battlestars jumped in all with at least a quarter of their crew dead and their ships falling to pieces, those ships were abandoned and evacuated to the Lacrymosa or the other five fighting ships. Now they have the full crews of three battlestars and if you combine whats left of the the other two remaining crew another whole battlestar. Now they are going to take a trip to the boneyard...mwahahahahahaha!!! and add possibly another 4 battlestars that are mothballed there to their forces. (Of course they will be OLD OLD battlestars that seriously need to be updated, they are as old as, or older than the galactica).

Yeah, there are alot of battlestars, they plan to stay AROUND the colonies, close to them. If the real BSG fleet went towards the constellation Taurus (Aldebaran, eye of the cow??) then my fleet is going into Gemini constellation. Which is not far from where I have located the colonies to be. here is a map:

http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd305/Mercer122/findchart.gif

I will be going south west from the Colonies here. I have been busy plotting and finding the positions the fleet went to if they really existed.

Okay, I always wanted that the Fleet would reach a shipyard. And they would find an empty Battlestar.. The Cylons were rebuilding it to fool the Humans. That would be a cool part. But you want to add even more Colonial forces to your fleet?

Mercer
June 27th, 2008, 01:24 PM
Well, what are we going to do with those 4 extra crews? We have almost 200 Civvies to protect AND a mobile shipyard. That can jump. I think the extra security is needed. They arent going galibanding after Galactica anyways. :D This shipyard can jump, but it has to make some sacrifices, first it can only dock 9 battlestars. This looks like a hub rather than a shipyard, Scorpion is sprawled all over the bloody place, and this is compact.

Oh, yeah and story UPDATES! Kind of large. Admiral Warren beats the crap out of another guy in here, quite contrary to his calm layed back personality.

I just finished reading, it seems that there will be a massive battle when the Cylons are finished with playing around in the Colonies?

And are you planning for major deaths along the way because you have so many survivors? Or are they just lucky to be alive?

Mercer
July 18th, 2008, 12:18 PM
Well, I plan for a large story arc. Those people will remain mostly intact. I dont want to give away any spoilers, but they will be going somewhere far yet close to the Colonies so they can rearm and settle the people at a new place just to allow greater flexibility. There wont be one massive gargantuan space battle, because there have to be 40+ basestars at least and there is no way their fleet even at full strength can tackle all of those. But they will hit the Cylons where it hurts a few times and there will be plenty of space battles. Admiral Warren is still thinking of a location of where to go after the asteroid field, where to take them. Then he will remember something his father told him..... :)

I will be adding more very soon. I am focusing on the civilian aspect right now. :D
