I was wondering about the music from a certain scene in the pilot: That part where the Chief and Sharon are reunited then Dualla and Billy kiss.
I really love the vocals and the way the melody sticks with you...
What was it called and where could I find it?

Try the Miniseries soundtrack.
The track is called "To Kiss or not to Kiss" and the melody appears again in "Reunited". The language is Sanskrit and the lyrics are from some religious/spiritual text (the Upanishads I believe)
Really a great tune :)

Does anyone have the miniseries soundtrack? Is it any good? Ive got S1 and 2 but not the miniseries. Out of print in the UK AFAIK.

There are a few good tracks, but it's not as good as the regular series. The soundtrack works well on the screen, but a lot of it is taiko drums, which by itself isn't that fun to listen to. And the other music elements also evolved a lot later.
So the best tracks are the ones that have some variety and vocals. Like "A Call to Arms", "The Storm and the Dead" (Arriving at Ragnar, Kelly walking through the morgue), "The Lottery Ticket" (as the name says, the Raptor lottery), or the aforementioned "To Kiss or not to Kiss".
While the other tracks aren't bad, it's not the kind of music I like to listen to alone - without the visuals.
Compared to the number of tracks (26), that's not much. Let's say it's more of a soundtrack, while the other CDs are albums.

I do. My favorite track is "The Storm and the Dead," which plays as Galactica approaches Ragnar Anchorage.
I like the Miniseries soundtrack. Richard Gibbs tried to make a general theme for the Colonies or Galactica in addition to the tribal music. McCreary is good, but I find most of BSG's music to meander.
It's the only BSG album I have; the music on this show generally doesn't do much for me, barring season 3's, which for the version of "Watchtower" I MUST get.
Try eBay, my friend.

It's good, but also massively overrated IMO. Yeah, it's a great rock song, but listening to the Hendrix or Dylan versions works just as well.
I'm looking more forward to some other pieces like the opening of "Occupation" (A Distant Sadness), Tigh killing his wife (Gentle Execution), the return from New Caprica (Refugees Return) or the basestar music (Battlestar Sonatica).
