I noticed this week that the Battlestar Online Store (http://www.battlestaronline.com/store.html) is taking orders for fully licensed and official costumes (http://www.battlestaronline.citymax.com/costumes.html). Theres a male and a female version retailing for just under $40 (£20) not including delivery. Aparently it comes with a shirt, pants and Dog Tag necklace (http://www.battlestaronline.citymax.com/catalog/item/4233364/4141397.htm). You can get the pins (http://www.battlestaronline.citymax.com/catalog/item/4233364/4141232.htm) and patches (http://www.battlestaronline.citymax.com/catalog/item/4233364/4140925.htm) seperatly.

So is anyone intending on getting this costume? If so is it as good quality as you expect or is it a bit cheap and novelty? Ive seen some really amazing home made stuff before that looked pretty impressive especially the viper suits.

It looks like plastic pants, WTF? Their pants are never shiny on TV.

Also, why no flight suit? I WANT A FLIGHT SUIT!!!

It's not impossible to make flight suits. Last year I saw a well-done costume at DragonCon and expect to see more this year.

Some enterprising people are selling flight suits on eBay. Look it up.

This wonderful group of folks who I met at DragonCon 2006 (http://www.thestormhaven.com/BSGCostume.html) made a great showing with their costumes. It was nice that they thanked me on their page, but really it's all of the wiki's contributors who should be happy to know that Battlestar Wiki was one of their sources in getting their costumes together.

There is a Yahoo Groups forum where many of these people share tips.
