View Full Version : Worst episode?

Which episode do you think is the worst?

I have to say The Young Lords. If it wasn't for Starbuck I'd call it a complete waste of time.

First of all; Kyle annoys me so much. His outfit, his name, his arrogance. Second, the guy who plays his dad blinks excessively whenever he talks, it's like looking at Tyra Banks but without the ego trip. The plot itself was really lame and it still puzzles me why they decided to stay. If only one family is left to repopulate the planet after the cylon attack then... ew?

Sorry - didn't spot that - habitually using the 'new posts' feature now. I'll be more careful in future.

I will not comment on topic since I haven't seen the original.

I agree. :)

Worst episodes, for me:

The Magnificent Warriors - Brett Somers was completely annoying. She was just wrong for the part. The whole concept of the episode was ludicrous.
The Lost Warrior - Basically, this is "Shane" in space. The only thing that redeems this episode is Richard Hatch's acting.
Greetings from Earth / Baltar's Ecape / Experiment in Terra - Definitely the low-point of the series. After two great mythology stories—"The Living Legend" and "War of the Gods"—this blew chunks. It was just bad all around. Lloyd Bochner with a fake German/Nazi accent, Hector and Vector, and the episodes were clearly inappropriately named to fool fans. And people complain about poor plot continuity with the new series. Bah!

In defense of "The Young Lords", I liked this episode. I thought Audrey Landers (Hot Delta-Alpha-Mike-Nebula!) and the infighting between Spectre and Lucifer really redeemed this episode. (Oh, and lest we forget John Colicos' Baltar!) Also, the scenes between Starbuck and Boomer—before Starbuck crash-lands on Antilla—were excellent as well. (In fact, they were so good that GL used them again in "The Return of Starbuck" with some dialogue tweaking.) But, in general, the signing and the kids could have been avoided. And, yes, Kyle should be castrated.

The worst one for me is when they fly into heven or something, and it all goes from being a space thriller to trying to get too much into religion (a religion that knowone can relate to)

Does anyone know which episode i mean?

Im guessing its about the point the ratings started to sky dive!

Uhm, you're probably referring to "War of the Gods"...

For the record, the Beings of Light (while known as the "guardians of the universe") aren't gods. They're highly evolved creatures who are on a different plane of existence.

Secondly, they don't "fly into heaven"...

If that's the episode you're referring to, then you should probably rewatch it. :)

I just saw it tonight and I really liked it! My friend and I sat and guessed what/who Count Iblis could be. Something that really puzzles me though is what was in his space ship.

The Beings of Light reminded me of the Ascended people in Stargate and Iblis of Anubis. They do have strong resemblances.

The worst episode I think is "The Magnificent Warriors." The episode would have been better if they didn't have Brett Somers in it.

Paranoid much?

Actually, it's patterned after the book, which was the inspiration for the movie.

Yes, what or who was in that space ship? Do you know, Joe?

It's supposed to be a cloven hoof. It was apparently filmed, but cut because it wasn't suitable for audiences.

People thought it might have been Commander Cain's remains, given that he was mentioned in the episode, and the fact that the ship was huge.

What was the hoof supposed to mean? Was it an intergalactic cattle barge, and Sheba would have been upset at all the wasted beef had she seen it?

Satan is often depicted with hooves (probably modeled by the early Church after the Greek God Pan and/or the Satyrs who are depicted as hedonistic and sexual) and Iblis is a Muslim/Arabic term for evil spirit or demon. I think the idea was that the ship, which presumably belonged to Count Iblis, was operated by demonic entities.

As Joe mentioned, the Satanic undertones would have been cut in a "family" show.

I've always believed that the ship found on the planet did not belong to Count Iblis, but the people were charmed and influenced by him, just like he was trying to do with the Galactica and the rag-tag fleet. Some people do believe that the wrecked ship is the Pegasus, but I do not. I didn't then and I do not now.

BSG-TOS...................DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IEEE!! I did like the Living Legend though. Those were nice, but I hate everything else.

And yes, that Shane in space thing, I almost blew chunks over it...

From what I've read/found out, the ship was never intended to be Pegasus (since GL wanted it to return for the second season premiere, as per his Year Two proposal), and the hoof-footed people were supposed to be his original followers. The inference that we're supposed to get is that Iblis brought them to their end.

I am in total and utter agreement with you there, Stairway,i couldnt have put it better myself, Who does that div, 'Kyle' think he is? How on earth can he think he's 'all that' wearing that stupid hat? i know it was 1978 but seriously, what a shocker!!

runner up......Greetings from Earth...because a) it wasnt Earth (seriously disappointing for a then 5 year old Zod, who was the most positive child (ah, memories) ... and b) Hector and Victor seriously do my nut in. if I want to watch Laurel and Hardy, I will watch Laurel and Hardy...and laugh too!! Hector and Victor were/are probably the most annoying characters in BSG history (apart from 'Kyle' and his stupid hat of course....)
