I know this is an old thread, and normally I wouldn't revive but too many of these literary threads have gone unanswered or forgotten.
I tried reading the comic adaptation but had a tough time with it. I know it is a popular guy series with the shooter. Maybe I'm missing something. The character seems well developed. I found the artwork distracting and too much text in the GN.
How are the novels? There's what 7 or 8 in the series?

I read those. I had to read the epilogue that he put in too, even though he said I was an uncultured drug addicted swine, or something like that, especially since I liked it.
In general I thought the books were really good. That guy can sure paint a great picture, the atmosphere of the books was amazing. Most the Sci-fi I read isn't even comparable, or its too complex in the wrong places.
But a few parts were long and boring (I admit I mostly liked it for the action and weird ideas) and a few parts were just flat out disgusting or over the top.
At the very least though those books were not ordinary.

I can't finish it.... 200 pages left in the last book and..... the magic is gone. So much time wasted. I hope I get back into it one day
