Here's a chance to make your best guess based on what we've seen so far in season 4. I made a new poll for those of us who have changed our minds since the Sticky poll was made.

I have to still go with Felix. He was my first choice from the begining. Although, my opinion of the dyling leader is changing.

Will you do another one after Sine Qua Non?

I'm still going with Zarek on the "Adama is a Cylon" hunch, though I don't expect to stick with that between now and Revelations.

With much trepidation I finally cast my vote for Baltar, although I still have serious misgivings about choosing anyone. ;)

Since I believe there is more to the story than meets the eye, I think it is Dee.

Is there a way to make a poll wherein you could vote for, say, the two or three that you think would be most likely?

I don't know if this is quite the right place (what can I say, I'm a total nugget) to express this opinion, but I have a few possibilities.

1) Roslin -- It did not escape my notice that so far, 4 of the 5 major players of the New Caprican cylon resistance movement turned out to be Cylons (and yes, I include Tory in this company, since she aided the President greatly in this), and though I'm not sure it would be a good idea,it is possible that the show creators would go for the gut level punch of having those who seemed to most side with the humans against the Cylons, be Cylons themselves.

2) kara Thrace might or might not be. One the might sde, she did rather make a remarkable come-back from the dead, and there is the Comment Leeoben made To Kara, that since she heard the music (the ringing leading her to earth) that she must be one of them, and lastly, her comment to Sr. Adama regarding how it felt to her while she was there (earth) that she had been there before stands in agreement with the fact (as purported by the cylons) that the final 5 have been to earth.

On the not side-- Leeoben' comment that Anders and Thrace were supposed to have been enemies. Unless Anders as cyclon is actually some sort of fake-out (like he, Tory, Tyrol, and Tigh were actually suckers of some strange Cylon musical hypnosis which convinced them of their cylonness even while they weren't). Taken at face-value this could mean that Anders is one, and Kara is not. Unless Leeoben is saying something deeper about the Kara/ Anders relationship which has nothing to do with human vs. Cylon issues. It seems also too pat, that they would so visually emphasize the fact that there were only four new cylon revelations, while ending on Kara resurrected and flying next to Lee.

Callie-- could be. Though it could be argued that the cylons don't know about this child because he (tyrol) is? (and he probably actually is, though I'm not discounting a fake-out quite yet) one of the final 5, the Cylons having another half-human/ half-cylon child would be very important to them, but it would from a story standpoint diminish the mystery, importance, and rarity of Hera. And thus, it might be most expedient from a story-telling standpoint, to have her turn out to be a Cylon as well. Although, two Cylons having a child together would be even more remarkable and story complicating. Probably not, but who knows?

Gaius-- Hmm. Easily sucked in to Projections without Roslin's Chamalla explanation (for Roslin's susceptibility to Cylon projection).

Okay, those are my thoughts. If I should post them elsewhere, could some kind soul point the nugget in the right direction so that she isn't holding the latrine door open like a certain Dee-loving character (and I will edit out the content and repost it elsewhere in that eventuality)?

Will you do another one after Sine Qua Non?

Possibly if there are new hints in that episode.

I'm really ambivalent on who I think it is. I voted for Starbuck on the theory that Gaeta's song is about the final cylon (meaning the final cylon is a woman) and the lyrics seem to most closely connect to her (dark, laughing rain=the storm she crashed in). Also since the final five seemingly have come from the 13th colony (according to the hybrid) it would explain all of her visions of the mandala and her ability to sense the right path to Earth since she was resurrected. Now there is the issue of she is in the Last Supper picture but I don't necessarily take RDM's comments about how the final cylon isn't pictured at face value. Being a cylon doesn't necessarily explain how she died and was resurrected either since there was no indication she was in range of a resurrection ship and we don't know if the final five can be downloaded anyway.

I could see it being Dee or Roslin too. Roslin does seem to be questioning everything about herself lately and perhaps her visions of the opera house were due to more than just taking chamalla and were really cylon projection. Dee arguably would fit Leoben's statement that "Adama is a cylon" and her name itself means "resurrection." If the Last Supper picture is not misdirection, then it would pretty much have to be Dee if my theory about Gaeta's singing is correct because Starbuck and Roslin are in the picture. Or if Gaeta's song really is just about D'anna as it superficially appears, then perhaps it is Gaeta himself and the loss of his leg is the howl of suffering the Razor hybrid spoke about.

I look forward to Sine Qua Non to find out any new clues. And I still hold out hope that there is a 13th cylon and it's none other than Gaius Frackin' Baltar.

I don't think Baltar is actually a Cylon, but I think it's possible he's the thirteenth... I think BSG will all end with Hera and Nicky beginning the population of Earth under the guidance of one model of each of the 12 Cylons and Baltar. They will rename Earth as Kobol, and the Cylons will assume the names of Zeus, Apollo, Athena, etc. Each tribe of Man will be allied to one of the Cylon 'gods' and the thirteenth tribe will be allied to Baltar.

I had to seriously consider what I have since the start of Season 4 -- that I am crazy for thinking Dualla is the final Cylon. Nonetheless, she is still my vote, but I have seriously begun considering that there are in fact 13 models of Cylon, with Roslin being one of them and Starbuck being the twist-ending 13th one. This makes sense to me because I think that the 12 Cylon models are/were/will-be the Lords of Kobol, and that as there was a 13th tribe there would also be a 13th Cylon. It's a pretty wild theory, but Tigh being a Cylon is pretty wild, so I consider about anything a possibility now.

About Tigh being a cylon.....

I wonder about that. He is old enough that I believe he and Adama have known each other for 30 years. According to the show, 40 years ago Cylons were all metal and totally synthetic. So either, the cylons got the technology to look like us 10 years after the armistice, and spent the rest of that time biding theirs, or Cylons are a lot older than that...in fact...how can the final 5 be modeled on those priests of old if the cylons (as humanoid) aren't nearly as old as the priests themselves?

The arguments about Dualla might be starting to sway me, especially regarding Leeoben's comment.

I would personally want Zarek to be the Final Cylon although that more of a desire to see him on an important role. I would be equally happy if he became the (albeit fully human) president.

I still have a hunch its Lee. The whole Gaeta thing is a red herring and became apparent the moment the Fantastic Four mentioned him. I have seen and agreed many of the arguments on Baltar but he and Roslin seem obvious choices without the necessary "oh my god(s)!" effect which Lee would certainly have. Theres also the bit cut from "Ressurection Ship" with the poem that was later added to Caprica-Six in Downloaded. Lee just seems to be behind a smokescreen (Baltar, Gaeta, Roslin) till the Final Cylon is revealed.

Question: If it is Lee, and Sr. Adama is not also a Cylon, how could he be so conivnced of his son's birth to hiis (Sr.'s) wife? They would have to backpedal pretty hard to be able to sell an actual Cylon-biological birth, since Hera is supposedly the first...unless Lee was born by a miraculous birth much like Jesus?

Yes indeedy - "About Tigh being a cylon", something is not quite right is it?

I have started a secret sub-forum to explore the possibility. To join, you have to triple click on that angry, red face in the bottom right hand corner of your screen, and then whisper "you are perfect" before kissing your monitor. All welcome.

In the Adama flashbacks in Razor we saw the first experiments in the creation of humanoid Cylons, or at least we saw the Cylon investigation into human physiology, which would lead to the creation of the twelve models. That was forty years before the annihilation of the twelve colonies.

As you say, Tigh and Adama have known each other for thirty years. It's quite plausible that the Final Five, including Tigh, were built in that ten year period.

I don't think any individual humanoid Cylon is modelled on a specific human individual - each of the twelve models represent a human type, as if, as the astrologically inclined say, all Librans share certain characteristics.

We don't know that Tigh and Adama never left each other's side since they met, but if we assume they didn't then within that ten year period the Final Five would have to have been built and released into the wild, visited the algae planet and constructed the Temple of Five, visited Earth, and returned (presumably separately, given their ages) to take up their places in human society.

That implies that the Five are the priests - not that they are modelled on some 4,000-year old priests (but please enlighten me if I've missed anything that disproves this assumption).

We've seen Anders do something akin to delivering the last rites to the dying Eight on the rebel Basestar. Less obvious was Tyrol giving Baltar absolution (remember, RDM was raised a Catholic) by taking his hand, but it's not impossible that that's what happened in that scene, following Baltar's confession and contrition.

I'm leaning towards the notion that 'humanity' is not defined by the race that you're born into, but by your deeds and intentions, fallible as they may be, your contrition and your penance (the whole show has been about penance - about the journey), and that the priests' destiny is to guide this new humanity, including the Cylon, into a new age.
