So today with my $600 rebate from the Feds, and my birthday cash, I went to Best Buy and got a new laptop. The Dell XPS M1530 with Tuxedo Black finsh. (Look up on Best Buy's website for more details.) Let it be known, that the one I just picked up was the last one is all of northern Virgina. I even got it on sale.

However, now I have two laptops. The IBM (with no space bar) called BugsJr. Usually just surfing and movie laptop on my bed. However I need a new name. So... I am naming it right now BugsII since it's the second line laptop. BugsSr is the name of my Desktop. See a trend? But I like your suggestions. :D

Edit: Also.. I would never get a HP or a Mac. :)

I usually pick a name or a location from LoTR (in a true geeky/nerdy fashion) to name my computers. Unless it is exposed to a public network, where I pick more generic/descriptive (thus: boring) names.
Use whatever floats you boat imho, and don't think about it too much.

I use the Holy Bible as inspiration. Also, you'll go to Dell but not to Mac? Come now, we all know Mac is a superior setup. Even for Windows users, buy Mac then use Bootcamp to install your copy of XP (cause who the heck in their right mind uses Vista unless forced to) and you're done.

Hurrah for all.

That is a sad, sad, sad statement to make.

hey, just because this forum is filled with millenials doesn't mean folks won't get an all-time classic line like that ...

anyways, on topic, at the risk of being hopelessly obvious, how well is the cpu performing? 'cause based upon that, it could be "the beast" or "the bucket"
:-)

With Racetrack's reliability record into concideration, I wouldn't name anything like that :p

My track record with computers is bad. i.e. I break and then fix them or use them so hardly that I need to goto "Computer Abuse Therapy". So it might be a good name. :D

No way! My birthday present this year (which I didn't get until early May) was the exact same model Dell XPS M1530 (and I kid you not, tuxedo black finish! if you don't believe me, I can take a picture of it and post it!)

Duh never mind...of course I named mine.....although it has shifted a little bit.

If anyone is interested in throwing out names and re-naming my new laptop...

If it is the only way to see a photo of your computer then I say no I do not believe you. Really I just want to see a pic.
